Sightseeing in and around Stuttgart
With its medieval buildings, the old town of Esslingen is a perfect destination for every fan of German half-timbered architecture. The medieval Christmas market in the weeks before Christmas is particularly atmospheric in this ambience.

You want to become a princess or a prince? At the castles of Solitude and Ludwigsburg you can already practice. In autumn they decorate the whole garden with a very creative pumpkin exhibition.

On a hill in the south east of Stuttgart you find the burial chapel Württemberg. A perfect spot for a short hike up through the vineyards. Don't forget a bottle of wine for a picnic at the top.

German beer is famous around the world. If you want to learn more about the brewery process and beer itself you can do a brewery tour. We recommend the Schönbuch brewery because of the English guide. But there are a few more breweries in Stuttgart. Most of them include a tasting at the end of the tour.

The library of Stuttgart is located close to the central station. It is a very modern building and famous for its special architecture. Of course you can rent books there, but if you don't like your appartment you can also borrow paintings, too!

Stuttgart - Birthplace of the automobile! Both Porsche and Daimler (Mercedes) have their headquarter here. If you're interested in cars and the history of the automobile you can spend hours in these museums!

Good place for an afternoon walk, the tower enables a view over the city center as well! They also have a flower garden and a little zoo.
